Chandrababu Should Be Blamed For Boat Accident: YS Jagan
West Godavari: Leader of Opposition in Andhra Pradesh assembly and YSR Congress Party President YS Jagan Mohan Reddy expressed shock and concern over the boat tragedy in Godavari River yesterday. Speaking to the media at Ramaraogudem, YS Jagan who is on his mass contact initiative, Praja Sankalpa Yatra in the district, questioned how unlicensed boats could be allowed to operate and added that this was the third boat accident in the last six months.
YS Jagan said that a case of murder should be registered against the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu. These accidents were caused by bad governance and government should take full responsibility, he asserted.
The YSRCP Chief demanded that the government pay an ex-gratia amount of Rs 25 lakhs to the families who have lost their kin. He criticised the government for not taking any action against illegal boat operators. Corruption has percolated down to all segments of the government and this was the reason the officials were not bothered about providing safety and security to people.
The Leader of Opposition was happy that YSRCP leaders, workers and supporters have come forward voluntarily to participate in the rescue operations and encouraged them lend a helping hand to the needy.
Later, YS Jagan expressed his condolences over the social media and demanded immediate action from the government to stop illegal boating on Godavari as well as disburse ex-gratia to victims’ kin. Here’s a look at the tweets:
