Karnataka Polls: JD-S Banking On KCR, Chandrababu Support
The Janata Dal (S) led by former Prime Minister, Deve Gowda is banking on help from the chief ministers of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. While K. Chandrashekhara Rao, Telangana Chief Minister has been vocal in his support for JD (S), Chandrababu has called for the defeat of BJP, but has not called upon the electorate to vote for any party. It has been rumoured that he is backing the Congress and that his emissaries have opened channels of communication with sections of the party. The presence of APNGO leader, Ashok Babu who is known to be close to the AP Chief Minister, in Bengaluru, is raising eyebrows.
Telugus in Karnataka can influence more than 40 seats, it is believed. Deve Gowda is confident of support from both the chief ministers, and claims that his party will form the government.
