Modi Did Not Match Up To Telangana Aspirations: Vinod Kumar

TRS MP Vinod Kumar speaking in Parliament - Sakshi Post

New Delhi: Participating in the discussion on no-confidence motion in the Parliament today, TRS MP Vinod Kumar said people of Telangana did not appreciate Prime Minister Narendra Modi's government. He said that the first ordinance to the state was unconstitutional. Modi did not match up to the aspirations of the people of the state. The first ordinance given by the central government was to take away the seven mandals of Khammam.

The TRS MP said that the people of Telangana will never forgive the central government. Sileru hydroelectricity project was taken away from the state. He pointed out in the discussion that the government had failed in providing funds to the projects. "Even though AP tried to create problems for our state in electricity supply, state Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao purchased power from Chattisgarh and Maharashtra. Telangana was the only state in the country to give 24 free power supply to farmers," he said.

Vinod clarified that the state was asking only about water sharing through Polavaram project. He stated that Centre had not initiated Byyaram steel plant, Kazhipet rail coach factory and Telangana Girijan University. He remarked that Congress had never bothered about Telangana, moreover it was trying to stop establishing projects by framing cases against them.

He further said that the Centre should accord national status to Telangana projects also. Though Niti Ayog had mentioned that Centre has to pay Rs 19,000 crores, they are yet to release the amount. He wondered why AP government was not keen on the construction of a separate High Court. He demanded Modi and Congress president Rahul Gandhi reply to the issues he had touched upon in his speech, Vinod added.
