TDP Leader Arrested In Vijayawada Obscene Dance Case

Vijayawada: In connection with the arrest of five women anchors and 50 men over obscene dance at Vijayawada's Olive Tree Hotel on Wednesday night, the police arrested Telugu Desan Party leader and party host, Kolluru Ramakrishna yesterday. The police suspect the TDP leader's involvement in organizing the party, which had five Hyderabad-based anchors dancing in an indecent manner. It is learnt that the accused is Vijayawada's 47th division TDP President.

A total sum of Rs 5 lakh was collected, in the range of Rs 5,000 to Rs 10,000 from the party attendees, Joint Commissioner of Police Rana said. The women were sent to been Vasavya Womens Association, he added.

"Parties involving obscene dance and other illegal activities will not be tolerated in the city hereafter," the cop asserted. Many notable persons were among arrested, it is learnt. In a notable observation, the police took action on the party, on the very day the new Commissioner Dwaraka Tirumala Rao took charge.
