Nandyal Bypoll: YSRCP Raises Objection Over TDP Candidate’s Nomination
Nandyal (Kurnool) : TDP nominee for the Nandyal bypoll — Bhuma Brahmananda Reddy skipped mentioning details of his Income Tax returns in the election affidavit. In this regard, the YSRCP lodged a complaint with the Returning Officer and Joint Collector Prasanna Venkatesh on Monday.
"Candidate Brahmananda Reddy also mentioned in the affidavit that he belongs to the Hindu-undivided family. If that is true, why minister Akhila Priya did not mention the same in her affidavit when she contested from Allagadda constituency following her mother's death," the YSRCP leaders questioned.
The opposition party said that Brahmananda Reddy deliberately left a blank space on IT returns in the nomination papers. The YSRCP urged the election Returning Officer not to accept the nomination in which Brahmananda Reddy failed to provide assets and expenditure. However, the returning officer said that he would look into the case only after scrutinising the nomination papers filed by other party candidates.
