Nandyal (Kurnool): Nomination of YSRCP candidate Silpa Mohan Reddy for the Nandyal bypoll was approved by the election Returning Officer and Kurnool District Joint Collector Prasanna Venkatesh on Monday.

The Returning Officer rejected the objections raised by the TDP leaders over Silpa Mohan Reddy's nomination. The TDP attempted to pose a hurdle during the scrutiny of nomination papers and alleged that the notary who attested the TDP candidate's nomination papers, has not renewed his "certificate of practice" since 2013. The TDP also alleged that the additional affidavit of the YSRCP nominee was not submitted on stamp papers.

Speaking to media persons, YSRCP Spokesperson Ambati Rambabu said the Election Commission has put an end to the false propaganda of the TDP-pro media by approving the nomination of Silpa Mohan Reddy.
