Muslim delegation calls on Jagan

Hyderabad: Muslim religious leaders have met YSR Congress President YS Jagan Mohan Reddy who has assured the minority leaders of all help in unraveling the legal tangle on the Muslim Reservation Bill.

The Leader of Opposition has given the assurance when a group of religious leaders belonging to the Jamait Ulema-e-Hind had called on him ahead of the Supreme Court hearing on the Muslim Reservation Bill.

Party MLA Amjad Basha, who led the delegation, later told media here on Thursday that YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has assured the delegation of all possible help in hiring the best lawyers in the 4 % reservations to Muslims in educational institutions and employment case.

It was YSR who had created the reservations to Muslim minorities and some elements have challenged the decision in the court. The case comes up for hearing on April 18.
The delegation has urged the Leader of Opposition to uphold the fine traditions set by his father and ensure support for the cause which he readily agreed, Basha said.
