Mumbai Constable Tries To Mow Down Man With Car, Video Goes Viral

Thane: A Mumbai constable Ramesh Awte was booked for trying to run his car over a businessman following a financial dispute. The video of the incident has gone viral now, which shows the accused trying to knock down Atul Pethe on April 21. The victim had a providential escape after onlookers raised alarm and was left with minor bruises.

"On April 21, Ramesh came to Atul's shop in Naupada area and started hurling abuses at him. Thereafter, the accused drove his vehicle in a negligent manner to harm the victim. Atul clung to the vehicle and was dragged for some distance," a police official said.

A case under IPC sections 279 and 504 has been booked against Ramesh. The accused is yet to be arrested and efforts are on to nab him.
