Mudragada to Intensify Agitation, BC Groups Resist Quota for Kapus
Kakinada: Kapu leader Mudragada Padmanabham on Wednesday announced that he, along with his wife, will launch the agitation for reservation for the community under BC at his house in Kirlampudi on Friday.
Speaking to media, Mudragada said he was determined to continue the agitation until Kapus get reservations. I am not deterred by even terrorist case against me, he declared and asked Kapus to express their solidarity with him by skipping lunch and beating the platter with spoon at their homes. "I am ready to go to jail and will not take bail also if arrested," he said.
Expressing regrets over the attack on media persons in Tuni on the agitation day, Mudragada alleged that it was the handiwork of TDP men and added that some anti-social elements attacked even his wife.
BC Groups Resist Kapus Demand
On the other hand, BC leaders in Andhra Pradesh are on a warpath against the chief minister's assurance on the inclusion of Kapus in BC list for reservations. The leaders of various BC community leaders came together to form a joint forum to resist the government action in this regard.
TDP MLA and noted BC leader R. Krishnaiah also declared a counter-agitation against the Kapus' demand for the BC status. He called for a protest programme to be taken up at collectorates across AP on Thursday.
