Mudragada Announces Roadmap for Kapu Agitation

Kakinada: Kapu leader Mudragada Padmanabham, on Friday, announced a road map for the Kapu agitation that seeks to achieve reservations for Kapus by forcing the government to include them in the Backward Classes (BCs) list.

The four stage road map will involve a protest by wearing black ribbons and beating of plates with tablespoons on December 18 as first stage. In second stage, the agitators will submit memorandums to public representatives on December 30 and in third stage they will demonstrate with candles on January 8. On January 25, they will stage Kapu Satyagraha Yatra Mudragada said and added that they do not intend to seek permission from the government for the Yatra.

The above road map was decided at the Joint Action Committee meeting held here on Friday. Earlier, JAC had planned to stage a Yatra from November 16 to 21, but they deferred it as they didn't get permission for the same from the state government.
