Hyderabad: Telangana chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao directed power sector officials to examine the possibility of regularising all the outsourced employees working in the energy utilities and asked the electricity employees' unions to call off their proposed strike on December 6.

KCR, who held a review on the issue with officials, felt the outsourced employees in Transco, Genco, and discoms have been working for several years on nominal salaries should be regularised on humanitarian grounds, and asked the officials to prepare guidelines for the purpose.

"The government is ready to settle all the issues of the electricity employees amicably through talks," KCR said, adding to come for a dialogue with Power Minister Jagadeeshwar Reddy on this issue.

The chief minister also asked the employees not to fall prey to the strike given on political considerations and to prevent any inconvenience to the general public by going on a strike.
