Mother gives birth on footpath, lady cops turn midwives

Hyderabad: Hyderabad women traffic police have turned to midwifery for an expectant mother and helped her deliver a healthy baby boy on an open footpath in Narayanaguda on Tuesday afternoon.

A woman in advanced stage of pregnancy was walking down the road along with her husband in Narayanaguda. All at once, the woman got labour pains and collapsed on the spot.
As she could not be moved or shifted to hospital, the women traffic police responded immediately and plunged into action by helping the lady deliver the baby right on the footpath.
They created an enclosure right on the footpath using sarees. After delivery, the mother and a carefully wrapped baby boy were sent to the Maternity Hospital in Koti. The mother and the baby boy are hale and healthy.
