Mothe is waiting for its son KCR to return
Though KCR was born in Chintamadaka village of Siddipet, Mothe village in Velpur mandal of Nizamabad district, holds a dearer place in his heart.
Mothe has a special place in Telangana agitation, and on June 2 when the state officially formed, it joined in the boisterous celebrations. (Good Morning, CM KCR)
Every nook and corner of this otherwise sleepy village has been decorated with TRS flags, and it is difficult to come across a villager not wearing a smile.
Mothe has inspired many a Telanagna rebel, it was the first village to unanimously adopt a resolution backing the agitation. (Hopes, disappointments as Team KCR takes over)
Their only hope? That their hero KCR will fulfill all his promises.
Mothe inspired KCR:
Legend has it that on May 4, 2001, KCR who had just floated TRS after quitting TDP, took a handful of sand and swore that he will only return to Mothe after he has successfully achieved the dream of a separate statehood. He put the sand in his bag, and left the village to fulfill his promise. (TEAM KCR: ALL THE CM'S MEN )
KCR kept the soil in Telangana Bhavan, party headquarters in Hyderabad for more than a decade. At the most difficult phase of his struggles, he would touch the soil, praying for strength and courage.
On March 28, after 13 long years, KCR returned to Mothe, with that handful of sack packed neatly in a pouch, on his head. He unwrapped the pouch and emptied it in the local, much revered Rajarajeshwari Temple, and then moved ahead to the exact spot from where he collected the sand, years ago.
Promises he made to the village:
KCR made numerous promises to the village that inspired him. He promised Godavari waters for irrigation. He also promised setting up of a turmeric research station with a refinery and a sugarcane research unit. The first housing colony by Telangana state government will be constructed in Mothe village, he announced.
Before leaving he promised he will be back, and lay the first foundation stone of the refinery there. Mothe is waiting for its son KCR to return.
