More US-bound Students Sent Back from Dubai and Delhi - Sakshi Post

Hyderabad: Even as the controversy over the deportation of dozens of students from San Francisco is getting bigger and bigger, another batch of 20 students were sent back from Dubai and Delhi on Thursday. The student were heading to join colleges in the US despite a notice by the universities as well as the External Ministry to postpone their travel till the issue is resolved.

Following the deportation of the students, Air India has not allowed the students going to these universities board any of their flights. Similarly, Etihad airways has also barred around 20 students from boarding their flights from Dubai to California.

Department of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) of USA, on the other hand, said that both Silicon Valley University and Northwestern Polytechnic College are certified to enroll international students. On being asked about the deportation, ICE has said that the US customs can deny entry to anyone based on several factors.

However, Indian government has taken up the deportation strongly and asked the US government to explain the reasons for denial of entry to Indian students on a large scale, though they had valid visas.

US government’s response on this issue is awaited.

Fake consultancies busted

At a time when Indian students with valid visas are being deported, many fake consultancies have been busted in Hyderabad.

In one such incident, an employee of ‘Aamir Ali Khan Pacific Education, Overseas Careers’ was arrested by the Task Force for running the fake consultancy and helping several students immigrate to the US with invalid visas.
