Modi-Jinping talks DAY II: Highlights - Sakshi Post

The summit talks between Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping on the second day of latter's visit began in Hyderabad House on Thursday. The meet began in the backdrop of Chinese and Indian troops being involved in a face-off along their border in the Chumar area of Ladakh region in Jammu and Kashmir.

* China has commits investments worth USD 20 billion in India over the next five years

* India and China decide to initiate talks on civil nuclear cooperation

* India and China sign 12 agreements post-Modi-Jinping talks at Delhi.

* The pacts include cooperation in sectors like the railways, outer space and customs.

* Modi says it is important to have mutual trust and peace at the border to realise the full potential of the relationship between India and China.

* India, China discuss all issues including economic, political and security. Both countries decide to step up engagement in diverse areas

* India expresses its concern over trade imbalance and requested the Chinese leader to ease restrictions for investment by Indian companies in China

* Modi and Xi Jinping beging talks at Delhi's Hyderabad House.

* Earlier in the day, Foreign Affairs minister Sushma Swaraj meets Jinping, greets him in Chinese. Jinping then goes to Rajghat to pay tributes to Mahatma Gandhi.

* A guard of honour was presented to the Chinese President at Rashtrapati Bhavan.
