Model Gets 3 Year Jail For Plotting To Kill Madhur Bhandarkar

Mumbai: Preeti Jain, Mumbai-based model, has been jailed for three years after being found guilty of plotting to kill director Madhur Bhandarkar. Preeti was convicted of giving Rs75,000 to gangster Arun Gawli's aide Naresh Pardeshi in 2005. Incidentally, she gave the ransom a year after she accused Bhandarkar of rape. She accused the filmmaker of exploiting her by promising a break in films. She filed a rape case in 2004; however, the case was quashed by the Supreme Court after Preeti dropped her charge.

As Naresh didn't execute the plan, the model demanded her money back. However after Arun came to know about the incident he alerted the police. Along with Preeti, Naresh Pardeshi has also been sentenced to jail.
