MLA Chintamaneni Prabhakar Sentenced To Three Years Jail

Telugu Desam MLA Chintamaneni Prabhakar was sentenced to three years in jail in three different cases, on Wednesday.

The sentence was awarded by Bhimadole Magistrate Court in an assault case pertaining to 2011. At the time MLA Chintamaneni pushed and shoved minister Vatti Vasant Kumar and then Congress MP Kavuri Sambasiva Rao during a public meeting. Based on a complaint lodged by the minister's gunman, the Denduluru police registered a case.

On Wednesday, the court sentenced Chintamaneni under various sections that amounted to three years and also imposed fines totaling Rs 2,500. The MLA, who was present in the court, during the sentencing immediately submitted a bail application which was granted by the court.
