Missionaries Held For Religious Preaching
Hyderabad: Seven persons of a missionary group were arrested by Jawahar Nagar police on Monday for proselytizing locals.

The accused were trying to convert members of a particular community to another, which is illegal. They were also insulting a particular religion
The police arrested the group after being informed by people about proselytism at Balaji Nagar.
“The accused were trying to convert members of a particular community to another, which is illegal. They were also insulting a particular religion,” said Jawahar Nagar inspector S Ashok Kumar.
They have been booked under sections 153-A (promoting enmity between classes or groups) and 295-A (maliciously insulting the religion or religious beliefs of any class) of the IPC.
Kumar said that they were remanded in judicial custody.
