MIM MLA Akbaruddin sent to 14 days judicial custody - Sakshi Post

Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (MIM) leader Akbaruddin Owaisi was on Wednesday sent to judicial custody for 14 days on charges of delivering a hate speech.

Nirmal police had arrested Akbaruddin yesterday. After questioning the legislator throughout the night, the police produced him before a magistrate in Nirmal town in Adilabad district, at 5:30am.
The Magistrate remanded him until Jan22. Akbaruddin requested the Magistrate to treat him as a special prisoner and send him to a jail where medical facilites are available, but he was denied his request. The MIM leader was then shifted to the district jail in Adilabad town amidst high security

MIM has issued a call to bandh in Adilabad and Nizamabad district to protest against Akbaruddin Owaisi's arrest.

Additional security forces were also deployed in parts of the Old City, Charminar as a precautionary measure. Security forces are also deployed at Bhagya lakhshmi Temple near Charminar. Police implemented 144 section in enigmatic areas. Charminar, always a noisy place, is now quiet and filled with police forces.
