Medico Takes In Anaesthesia Overdose, Ends Life

Adilabad: A first-year PG medical student allegedly committed suicide by injecting anesthesia herself on Tuesday at Mudhole in Nirmal.

Savitha (26), a native of Mahalakshmi Colony in Mudhole, was pursuing PG first year in Anesthesia at the Osmania Medical College. She was the youngest of all the seven siblings in the family. As there were continuous holidays Savitha on Saturday visited her home in Nirmal and ended her life. The victim's parents, Lakshmi and Gangadhar found she was unconscious. They immediately shifted her to a hospital, where doctors declared that she was brought dead.

According to the police, on Tuesday Savitha spoke well to her relatives and family members. After having lunch, she went to her room and took the extreme step. However, the reason for the suicide is not known yet. It was also found that Savitha's marriage was fixed recently.

Based on the complaint of Savitha's father Gangadhar, the police registered a case and sent the body for post-mortem. In October 2016, B. Sravani a postgraduate student of the same department committed suicide by administering an overdose of anaesthesia.
