Medak: Pregnant woman forced to do election duty loses child - Sakshi Post

Tragedy struck Panchayat Polls booth at Dubbaka in Medak district.

In a heartrending incident, a pregnant woman who was on election duty gave birth to a baby in the vehicle. The child died soon after the birth.

Anitha was on election duty in Dubbaka. She was eight months pregnant. She went into labour at the polling centre itself. However, she delivered the baby while on way to Dubbaka hospital.  Sadly, the child died while Anitha is said to be in critical state.

According to Anitha's relatives, the pregnant woman had requested the election officials to excuse her from duty as her due date was nearing. However, they did not pay heed to her requests. The polling was stopped for an hour and half due to this incident. It is learnt that she was unwell from Monday evening.

More unfortunate was the fact that the locals dialed 108 services soon as Anitha experienced pains. However, the ambulance failed to show up on time.

Reports say that Anitha who's being treated at a local hospital in Dubbaka will be moved to Hyderabad for medical care.
