Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy prepared everything for the third phase Rachabanda programme in Telangana region, while leaders from Telangana were busy in pounding strategies to foil his tour in their region.

Differences between the CM and the deputy Chief Minister C Damodar Rajanarsimha buoyed many times including at the coordination committee meet over Telangana.
According to sources in the Congress party, Damodar Rajanarsimha instructed the Congress leaders of Telangana not to attend Kiran's Rachabanda programme. He asked particularly the leaders of Medak district to stay away from the meetings.
While Congress leaders preparing to abstain from the programmes of Kiran for his defiant stand on division of the State, TRS leaders called upon the cadres to give a damn to Kiran Reddy’s visits of any sort, in the region.
In this backdrop where the tensions were running high, the third phase Rachabanda programme of the CM would be an epicenter for protests.
