Massive manhunt on “injection psycho”

A massive manhunt is on in West Godavari district to arrest the “injection psycho” who has been attacking women with syringes since 22 August, 2015.

Additional DG, R P Tagore, Elluru Range DIG P Hari Kumar and SP Bhaskar Bhushan are involved in the manhunt.

The District Police officers in a press conference on Thursday have announced a reward of Rs.One lakh to anyone providing information about the man.

Special teams comprising 260 policemen have been entrusted with the task of nabbing the man who so far attacked around 15 people in Palacole, Veeravasaram, Penugonda, Undi and Anantapalli police limits.
As many as 15 check posts in the region are on high alert to stop him from fleeing the area.

SP Bhaskar Bhushan stated that two needles have been seized so far but the substance or chemical used in the injection is not known. The police also have set up CCTV cameras at several major locations and would be coming up with rough sketches of the accused soon.

The police have set up help line numbers, 94407-96000 or 100 (police control room) for people to provide information about the man.
