Hyderabad:  Kachiguda police on Thursday arrested a man for committing sexual assault repeatedly on his brother’s minor daughter for several times when the victim was alone at her home at Basheerbhag in the city.

Police said G Anand (50), son of Ushaiah, was staying near Lingampally Vinayak temple and runs a tailor shop at Basheerbhag. He eyed his brother auto driver Ramakrishna’s 15-year-old daughter, whose mother died last year. When the girl was alone at her home which is adjacent to his place, Anand sexually assaulted her several times in the months of February and March. He committed the crime after taking the girl to his workplace, too, according to his confession made to police.

Unable to bear the assault, the girl left her home after Anand once again attempted to rape her on July 14. Not aware of this, her father lodged a complaint of missing. Police had probed the case in various angles and found that Anand was the reason behind the girl’s missing. When taken into custody, he confessed to his crime.

The accused was sent for remand. Efforts are on to find the missing girl.
