Man Mows Down Woman With Tractor Over Land Dispute

In a shocking incident, a man mowed down a woman and left her husband critically injured by running his tractor over them. He resorted to this gruesome act over a land dispute. The ghastly incident occurred in Varigapalli village of Chittoor district on Friday.
According to the police, Jagannath Reddy (65) and Ranjit have been embroiled in a land dispute for quite sometime. Recently, Ranjit got an injunction from the court and tried to till the land on Friday with his tractor. But, Jagannath Reddy and his wife Vimalamma (52) opposed him saying he cannot till as the matter was still sub-judice. Ranjit went wild with rage and ran his tractor over the couple. While Vimalamma died on the spot, Jagannath Reddy suffered critical injures. He has been rushed to Chittoor Government hospital for treatment.
Ranjit immediately fled the village. The police, who registered a case, are on the lookout for him.
