Man kills wife for objecting to his illicit affair

Bareilly: A 23-year-old woman was killed and her body thrown into a river here allegedly by her husband after she objected to his illicit relationship.

Poonam's body was yesterday fished out of a local river near Adhkata village. The preliminary inquiry revealed her husband, Mohanlal, killed and threw the body into the river, police said.

During interrogation, the accused said he was in a relationship with a woman in the family and his wife opposed it.

A case has been registered against him at Nawabganj police staion, police said.
