Man Held For Trying To Extort Hyderabad Businessman

Hyderabad: A 33-year-old man was arrested on Wednesday for making ransom calls to city industrialist Manoj V. Parmar and attempting to extort Rs80 lakh from him.

The accused Sarath Kumar Sahu, an electrician, and native of Odisha was nabbed from Jubilee Bus stand. The complainant Manoj said that he received messages and calls from an unknown number to his phone number wherein the caller was using very vulgar language. He further said the caller also threatened that he has installed CCTV cameras in his bathroom and recorded all the videos of his family and would leak them if he did not pay the money.

We tracked the accused cellphone and nabbed him. He revealed that the businessman was due to pay Rs1.3 lakh in the past which the former didn’t pay. He then hatched a plan to extort money
