Lorry Mishap: Over 100 cylinders explode on NH 44

In a major mishap, over 100 gas cylinders in a lorry exploded in quick succession causing a major fire and a massive traffic hold-up on the National Highway No 44 near Enugumarri in Kurnool in the wee hours of Thursday.

According to reports, the lorry, carrying 450 cylinders, caught fire and nearly 100 cylinders exploded one after another.
Fortunately, no causalities were reported as the driver managed to jump to safety before the explosion.
Due to the massive sound of the explosion, the locals ran out from their lives out of fear.
Vehicular traffic continued to crawl on the highway for several kilo meters due to the mishap. The police and fire tenders took a long time to reach the spot as the flames spread to nearby area.
