Lokesh proposes, seniors dispose
Is not all well with senior ministers in AP cabinet and and Chief Minister's son Nara Lokesh? Several senior ministers have refused to take 'dictation' from Lokesh, if sources are to be belived.
Nara Lokesh had recommended the appointmento of media liaisoning officers for all the ministries. This was seen as a move aimed at keeping a tab on the ministers. Lokesh wanted 20 such officers to be appointed.
But, this move has not gone down well with senior ministers. Finance Minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu, sulking Deputy chief Minister KE Krishna Murthy, Bojjala Gopalakrishna Reddy, Devineni Umamaheswara Rao and Atchennaidu have flatly told that they do not need PROs at all. They said they would manage on their own. Some other ministers have appointed PROs of their choice and did not heed to advice from the 'heir apparent.'
There was also a proposal to install CC cameras for the ministers. This again was an attempt to monitor the minister's movement and to know who is meeting whom. However, all the minsiters have reportedly opposed this move.
Lokesh is the de facto second in command in the party today. He is incharge of the key departments in organisational set up reportedly to gain control of the party machinery.
