About 25 students who consumed the contaminated sambhar fell ill, others were soon stopped from having the food. The authorities called the 108 emergency number to take the affected students to the hospital. Some were given treatment there itself by the medical staff. All local doctors and MRO rushed to the spot on hearing the news.
Parents of the children complained that the students were often given contaminated food. The district elementary education officer came to the school and promised strong action against the suppliers of the contaminated food.
