Liquor scam: Clean chit to Mopidevi, Botsa - Sakshi Post

In a surprise outcome in the liquor distribution scam, the Anti-Corruption Bureau has given a clean chit to Excise Minister Mopidevi Venkataramana, PCC chief Botsa Satyanarayana and several other politicians.

It is a known fact that Mopidevi was named in the remand report of the ACB for accepting a bribe of Rs 10 lakh from the liquor syndicate.

Khammam syndicate leader Nunna Venkata Ramana had stated that he had given Rs 10 lakh to the minister as bribe.

In the past also there was an element of surprise when Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy defended Mopidevi and said “he was not involved any way in the case”.
As expected, the ACB which probed the scam said the same thing.

The agency on Wednesday submitted its final report on the probe to the High Court and in that it mentioned that there was no proof of the involvement of any politician in the scam. But however, it found proof against 100 government officials.
