Is Telangana Ready To Combat Viral Diseases?

With the onset of monsoon likely within a week, Telangana State government health officials are gearing up to set up a new containment facility in the state to quarantine all viral diseases like influenza, swine flu and other such illnesses, that may erupt with the change in weather. This new facility would come up at the Government Fever Hospital premises in Hyderabad. “Hyderabad has been a pioneer when it comes to combating viruses like malaria, diphtheria, cholera and rabies as the Fever hospital came up way back during the Nizam era and the legacy would be taken forward by serving as a role model to the entire nation as the facility that would come up is the first of its kind in the country “ an official said. The quarantine facility would be a ten bed hospital and equipped to handle even deadly diseases like Ebola and Nipah.
