'Legislators' behaviour key to respect for the legislature'

“Responsibilities of MLAs and MLCs of Andhra Pradesh has gone up after the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh,” said Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan.

Speaking at the training session of MLAs and MLCs being held at ITC Kakatiya Hotel in Hyderabad on Saturday, she asked the legislators to behave in a manner that raises respect for the legislatures.

She advised the legislators to use the question hour in a meaningful way. “The members should talk during the discussions on various topics and should have a good understanding of the topics,” said the speaker.

In the training session, former deputy chairperson of Rajya Sabha Nazma Heptullah, Andhra Pradesh Assembly Speaker Kodela Sivaprasada Rao, Chief Minister Chandrababu and others addressed the legislators.
