Land Grabbing Case Against TDP MLA Bonda Uma, Collector Takes Suo Moto Cognizance

Vijayawada: District collector took suo moto cognizance of the land grabbing incident involving TDP MLA Bonda Umamaheswara Rao and his wife Bonda Sujata.

The Collector directed all the aggrieved parties to bring evidences and necessary documents during a hearing held at the RDO office, on Saturday. The said land measuring 5.16 acres and worth around Rs 50 crore was given to freedom fighters. However, Sujata presented fake documents and seller and got the land registered in her name. One of the descendants of a freedom fighter, Suresh, said that he received threats from Bonda Uma. Later, Suresh reported the matter to the CID following which the incident came to light. Based on Suresh's complaint and media reports, the district collector ordered an inquiry.

However, Suresh said that he does not have faith in the investigation by the Collector as so far the perimeter wall erected by Bonda Uma was not removed. He said that he would approach chief minister Chandrababu Naidu and explain the incident besides reporting it to the Kapu community.
