Lakshmi Parvathi demands Bharat Ratna for NTR

“Government of India must give ‘Bharat Ratna’ to late chief minister and founder of Telugu Desam Party N.T.Rama Rao,” said his wife Lakshmi Parvathi.

Speaking to reporters in Srikalahasti on Friday, she said, “If the highest civilian honour in the country is not awarded to the late leader, we will protest before Parliament.”

She said that NTR is a shining symbol of Telugu pride. “He did a lot for the self respect of Telugu people,” said Lakshmi Parvathi.

She reminded that N.T.Rama Rao had introduced several welfare schemes for the poor people in the state.
