Kodandaram, Srinivas Goud in police custody

TJAC chairman Kodandaram and TNGO leader Srinivas Goud were arrested by police on Friday as the duo marched towards the  assembly demanding a resolution on the Telangana issue.

Tension prevailed at the Ashok Nagar Chowrasta when Kodandaram and Srinivas Goud staged a sit-in protest against the police repression. When the TJAC activists pelted stones at the police, the latter used tear gas to bring the situation under control.

Kodandaram alleged that the democratic right to express dissent was being suppressed. He appealed to the the public to protest at their respective places. He also said that Chalo assembly would continue against all odds. "Our future course of action will be declared in the evening," Kodandaram said before police took him into custody.
