Kiran Reddy requests Moily for additional power - Sakshi Post


Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy on Sunday requested Union Power Minister Veerappa Moily to help tide over power shortage in the state.

He requested Moily to consider allocation of 231 MW of power from NTPC Jhajjar till end of May 2013 to meet the present critical power crisis, a release from the chief minister's office said. 

Presently, power from NTPC Jhajjar has been allocated to the tune of 131 MW upto October 2012 against an earlier allocation of 231 MW. The chief minister also requested Moily to allocate power from unallocated share of central generating stations of the Southern region upto 500 MW. 

He also requested for unallocated power of 300 MW from the Kudankulam Atomic Power Plant and 75 MW from the second expansion of the Neyveli Lignite Corporation to Andhra Pradesh, the release said.

Moily was recently in the city to participate in the annual convocation of NALSAR University here.
