KCR's Next is 'Prayutha Chandi Maha Yagam'
Erravalli (Medak): Historical ‘Ayutha Chandi Maha Yagam’, undertaken and performed by Telangana Chief Minister K.Chandrasekhar Rao on an unprecedented scale for universal peace and people's welfare, has concluded on Sunday evening with Mahapurnahuthi. Bouyed by the success of the event, the chief minister announced the conduct of “Prayutha Chandi Maha Yagam” as his next major religious activity.
The 2,000 rithviks who participated and supervised the five-day ritual blessed KCR the principal performer of the Yagam and his family.
Post the conclusion of the Chandi Yagam, in which Governor ESL Narasimhan also participated with his wife, KCR felicitated the pontiffs of Sharada Sringeri Peetham, seers and rithviks. He thanked them for their contribution and for the successful conduct of the five-day ritual without any obstacles. He received blessings from the vedic priests amid chanting of vedic hymns by the rithviks.
The chief minister and his family will spend the night at the Yagashaala in Erravalli. Speaking after the conclusion of the mega religious event, KCR said he intends to perform the “Prayutha Chandi Maha Yagam” at an appropriate time. In Sanskrit ‘Ayutha’ means ten thousand whereas ‘Prayutha’ means ten lakh, that is the priests will repeat hymns for ten lakh times during the yagam.
On Monday, he is scheduled to visit Sri Raja Rajeshwara Swamy at Vemulawada and perform special pujas to mark the successful completion of Ayutha Chandi Maha Yagam.
