KCR Lets Down Nizam’s Kin During Centenary Celebrations
Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao, who often takes time to boast the glorious reign of Hyderabad Nizams, has failed to invite the family members of Mir Osman Ali Khan for the inaugural function of centenary celebrations of Osmania University.
Grandson of Nizam VII, Nawab Najaf Ali Khan claimed that he did not receive any invitation from the Telangana government for 100 years celebrations of OU.
While posters of the Telangana Governor and CM were pasted all around the university campus, Najaf Ali Khan regretted that not even single poster of Nizam VII Mir Osman Ali Khan was seen during the event. Name of Mir Osman Ali Khan was wrongly spelled during the speeches, he said.
Besides demanding that a statue of the Nizam be installed in the university campus, the Nizams's grandson appealed to the Telangana government to release a speech copy of the Nizam highlighting the contributions of the last Nizam.
Meanwhile, the opposition party leaders felt that the KCR should have paid tributes to the portrait of the Nizam during the inaugural ceremony.
