DMK Chief and Former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu Karunanidhi was seen playing cricket along with his grandson in a video that has become viral on social media. Though he is seated in the wheelchair, he can be seen bowling at his two year old grandson.
This news made his fans as well as party supporters elated, amid recent reports that the 93-year old was unwell. It is known that Karunanidhi was admitted into a hospital a few days ago. Speculations were rife that Karunanidhi was in a serious condition, at the time.
In the video, Karunanidhi plays along with his grandson (son of Arul Nidhi), inside his residence. While the grandson can be seen batting, in the presence of other family members, the third Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu can be vividly spotted bowling at the child.
In what could be a relief to scores of party workers, Muthuvel Karunanidhi Stalin, simply known as Stalin, has announced that his father Karunanidhi is in good health and there is nothing to worry about his recent admission to the hospital. However, Stalin, the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) President is not seen in the video alongside the veteran politician.
In other news, the personal security officer (PSO) of the DMK Chief was placed under suspension on the last day of his service on Wednesday. The Deputy Superintendent of police (DSP) Pandian, who has worked as the PSO of Karunanidhi from 2006, was allotted a 4800 square feet house plot belonging to the Tamil Nadu Housing Board worth Rs 75 lakh.
After Pandian made the payment in one go, activist Selvaraj raised the issue and complained to the Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption (DVAC) seeking a probe into his source of income. It is learnt suspended due to misconduct in this connection.
