Kapu Reservations: Angry BCs Protest, Burn Chandrababu In Effigy

Chandrababu Naidu government's handling of Kapu reservation issue seems to be snowballing into a controversy. While the Kapus are suspicious about the Andhra Pradesh Government's sincerity in according reservations to them, the backward communities are up in arms against the Government's decision.

Angry Kapus took out a rally and burned Chief Minister Chandrababu in effigy in front of the district collectorate in Kakinada on Saturday. With Kapus burning tyres and deflating RTC buses, the vehicular traffic came to a standstill on the busy road. A large number of people from the BC communities joined the protest and shouted slogans against Chandrababu Naidu.

The police were deployed in large number to diffuse the situation.
