TG Venkatesh said that Kancha Illaiah should be fired in public for the controversial 18-page booklet ‘Samajika Smugglurlu Komatollu’.

Hyderabad: Professor and Dalit thinker Kancha Illaiah on Tuesday sought the arrest of former minister and MP TG Venkatesh for the latter's remarks against him. TG Venkatesh said that Kancha Illaiah should be fired in public for the controversial 18-page booklet ‘Samajika Smugglurlu Komatollu’.

It may be recalled that Kancha Ilaiah stirred up a controversy after he released a translated version of his book — Post-Hindu India. Arya Vysya community staged protests across the Telugu states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Later, during a meeting in Warangal, Ilaiah kicked-up a row by saying that Vysyas should start eating fish and chicken as they were doing so in ancient India.

The Vysya community representatives issued a death threat and demanded that the state governments should ban the book. "They said they will slit my tongue, if I did any mistake I am ready to face the consequences, ready to go to jail," Illaiah said.
