Jagan's judicial remand extended till Dec 19
A special CBI court on Wednesday, extended the judicial remand of YSR Congress party president, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy till December 19.
A calm and composed Jagan dressed in a neatly pressed crisp white shirt, came out of the Chanchalguda prison with folded hands to leave for the special CBI court on Wednesday morning around 11am. There were anxious moments as scores of Jagan's fans raised slogans expressing their support to their favourite icon. Jagan waved at his supporters even as the police tried to control the crowd that had gathered outside the jail. The police had beefed up security around the area.
Due to the absence of CBI special court judge, another CBI court judge heard the case today. As the CBI special court in Gaganvihar, Nampally didn't have the video conference facility, Jagan had to appear before the court in person. Jagan was provided special conveyance for the same.
The deadline for the remand was up today and thus Jagan came out of the Chanchalguda jail after 71 days. Jagan has so far appeared before the CBI special court three times.
Each time, the case used to be heard through video conferencing. However, due to the absence of the judge and the technical facilities, Jagan personally appeared before the court.
Along with Jagan, those accused in the Vanpic case—former minister Mopidevi Venkataramana, Nimmagadda Prasad, Brahmananda Reddy were also produced before the court. Besides, those arrested and jailed in connection with the Emaar and OMC case too made an appearance in court.
The special CBI court extended till December 19 the judicial remand of YSR Congress Party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy. Jaganmohan Reddy, presently lodged in Chanchalguda prison, was produced before the court under heavy security before the First Additional Special Judge for CBI cases, along with former AP minister Mopidevi Venkata Ramana Rao, industrialist Nimmagadda Prasad and others.
The court extended their judicial custody by another fourteen days. Minister Dhramana Prasad Rao too appeared before the court.
