Jabardasth Actor Vinod Refutes Suicide Attempt, Kidnapping

Hyderabad: Even as stories of his kidnap and suicide bid are doing rounds, Vinod of popular TV show Jabardasth fame, refuted the allegations. He says and he is very much alive and rejected the rumours.

"I have given a written statement to the police officials that nobody has kidnapped me and that the news about forceful marriage is also false," said Vinod.

On May 8, social media went into a tizzy after rumors flew thick and fast that the actor has attempted suicide by slitting his wrist after his parents forced him to get married to his sister's daughter. The artiste said that he went home as he had taken ill for the past few days. He was then taken to church by his parents for prayer, where they encountered his sister, who then asked him about the marriage proposal. The artiste rejected the proposal saying he wants to do well in the profession first.

The very day police also came home after receiving news of his kidnap. The actor was let off after inquiry.

"I did take up the marriage proposal to Vinod but never forced him to get married. We want him to settle down, but will never pressurize him for marriage," Vinod’s mother. Vindo shot to fame from the comedy show ‘Jabardasth’ in which he dresses up and acts like a woman and calls himself Vinodini.
