IYR Krishna Rao Terms CMO Office As Extra-Constitutional Body; Shoots Off Letter To CM
Hyderabad: Former IAS officer IYR Krishna Rao on Saturday dashed off a strongly-worded letter to AP Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu over the AP CMO's functioning.
Terming the Andhra Pradesh CMO office as extra-constitutional body, the former IAS officer said that there was no transparency in its functioning and no reforms have been implemented by the office so far.
Krishna Rao, who held the chairman post of AP Brahmin Welfare Corporation, was sacked by Chandrababu following distasteful comments he had made against the TDP government on social media.
Krishna Rao further expressed displeasure over the way the CMO office has been functioning on the lines of AP Secretariat in Velagapudi in Amaravati.
The functioning of the CMO office would impact on the interests of the people in Andhra Pradesh, he said. Alleging that the government officials are not abiding by the norms while discharging their duties, he urged the Chief Minister to take measures in safeguarding the files and documents in the public office. He further stressed the need for setting up a manual in the CMO office.
