IPL Cricket Betting Racket Busted In Hyderabad; 21 Held

Hyderabad: Police busted four IPL betting rackets and arrested 21 persons hours before the start of a match between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Delhi Daredevils at Uppal stadium on Wednesday.

Police conducted raids at several places and nabbed organizers, bookies and punters. They seized cash worth Rs13.44 lakh, laptops, mobile phones and other electronic gadgets that are used in betting. "We caught punter VV Krishna Rao near Sagar Crossroads. On interrogation, he spilled the beans about the betting racket," a police officer said. They were organizing bets using WhatsApp.

Based on his confession, police arrested H. Ganapathi and G. Sambasiva Rao, while another accused Kiran was absconding.
