Innova car engine carries Rs 2.5 crore, notes burnt in Nalgonda - Sakshi Post

In a shocking incident on Wednesday,  police recovered half burnt notes, worth approximately Rs 1 lakh from an Innova. Police continue to bust illegal transferring of money meant to lure voters, as polling is underway in 119 Assembly and 17 Lok Sabha in Telangana.  

As per reports, the police found burnt money in a Innova car (AP09TB8289) at Suryapet town in Nalgonda district. Those involved kept the bag containing close to Rs 2.5 crore in near the vehicle's engine to escape being caught by the police. But due to engine's heat, some Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 notes, worth close to Rs one lakh were burnt. 


The car has a sticker with Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) working president and former minister N Uttam Kumar Reddy's name on it. However,  it is yet to confirmed if the vehicle belongs to him or his supporters.  

Reportedly the driver is absconding, and the police have have started their investigations.  

Election Commissioner Bhanwar Lal confirmed recovering of Rs 2.5 crore. He has also ordered an enquiry into the matter.
