Injustice to Polavaram oustees: YS Jagan

YSRCP chief and Leader of the Opposition in AP Assembly YS Jagan Mohan Reddy accused the AP Government of not giving Resettlement and Rehabilitation (R and R) Package to the Polavaram oustees.

Speaking during the Question Hour in the AP Assembly on Saturday, he said protests were going on almost on a daily basis in Polavaram. He offered to undertake a joint inspection if the ministers and the higher officials were willing to join him. He said the land acquisition has been going on for over 10 years and still there is no closure for the oustees. He suggested that the Government take the oustees into confidence and give them adequate compensation.
He pointed out that the officials were bringing pressure on the people of Ramayyapet, Paidipaka and Chegondapalli villages.He asked the government to ensure that the  interests of the poor people in the project areas are protected.
