I don’t care about BJP: Ram Jethmalani - Sakshi Post

Former BJP member and noted lawyer Ram Jethmalani is set to defend Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in the defamation case filed against him by Finance Minister Arun Jaitley in court.

However the veteran lawyer is being criticized for taking up the case by BJP, though Jethmalani has managed to come down hard on the BJP folks.
Jaitley has filed a civil Defamation case against Kejriwal and five other AAP members in the Patiala court in the national capital and sought Rs 10 crores in damages for accusing him of corruption during his tenure as the Delhi cricket association head.
Jethmalini who is the legal counsel for Kejriwal in this case defended his position and said he had defended BJP old hand L.K.Advani in the hawala case earlier and now he will be challenging Jaitley in the court room.
“Mr L.K. Advani had me as his lawyer. Now Arun Jaitley is to be prosecuted by me. You take it,” he said.
Mr. Jethmalani was responding to a question on Prime Minister Narendra Modi comparing the charges of corruption against Mr. Jaitley with the hawala case faced by Mr. Advani in the nineties, in which he had come clear at the end.
The lawyer also hit out at BJP during an interview here was asked if BJP asked him to drop the defence for Kejriwal and said “What the hell do I care for BJP because at the instance of Arun Jaitley and his coterie I was expelled from the party. In spite of that, I helped Mr. Modi come to power.”
If anything this case will have a very dramatic court room experience as the cold relationship Jaitley and Jethmalani share is no secret.
