HYDERABAD: About 200 volunteers from Synchrony, a financial solutions company in Hyderabad, collaborated with Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC)and organised Prayaas drive-a clean city initiative outside Chest Hospital, ESI, Erragadda.

What is Prayaas Initiative?

Prayaas is a cleanliness drive, which is not a symbolic one-time clean-up drive but aims to restore and retain the spot for longer period. Prayaas initiative also marked its 2nd anniversary which has become a useful drive in cleaning up the city.

Prayaas is an initiative by Synchrony to keep the city clean and improve the hygiene in the neighbourhood. The programme is an attempt to find real solutions to permanently eliminate the open garbage dumps and ugly spaces in the city.

The main vision of Mega Prayaas drive, which was conducted at Erragadda, is to restore and retain the spot successfully for more than 90 days with the help of local community and GHMC.

As a part of the initiative, volunteers cleaned up a 50-metre stretch and adorned the spot with paintings with more than 10 teams from Synchrony participating in it. The teams worked on a street art contest with the theme ‘people and pollution’.

The contest was judged by Harichandana, Zonal Commissioner, Serilingampally.

Similar Mega Prayaas drive was organised in 2018 too by Synchrony at 100 feet road, Jubilee Hills where volunteers fixed both sides of a 50-meter stretch near the 100 feet road in Jubilee Hills followed by adorning the spot with paintings.
